New Funding for Creating Affordable Housing

Funding has been announced for the creation of new affordable rental housing by NRH-approved Non-Profit/Cooperative housing providers and supporting services agencies.

In response to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing’s Investing in Affordable Housing for Ontario 2014 Extension, Niagara Regional Housing is issuing a Request for Proposal for eligible proponents to apply.

The funding is limited to approximately $3 million.

Deadline to apply is Friday, May 1, 2015 at noon

If you are an existing social housing provider as defined under the Housing Services Act, 2011 - Schedule 21 of O. Reg. 368/11, and you are building on an existing social housing site, contact Sarah Phillips at 905-682-9201 ext. 3918 or by email to see if your project submission requires ministerial consent. If it does, you will need to submit the required Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing documents prior to or at the same time as your request for proposal submission. Failing to do so may make your submission ineligible.

Three accessible 1-bedroom apartments will be available.

Rent will be determined according to income. Note that parking spots are limited.
